As we celebrate 175 years in our communities, Essex Bank continues to provide the relationships that individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofits need to succeed.
I am deeply honored to have been selected by the Board of Directors to serve as Essex Bank’s 19th President & CEO, following the August 3, 2026 retirement of Diane Arnold. We wish Diane all the best.
We continue to celebrate our 175th year in a variety of ways. In honor of the year that the Bank was founded, we are providing monthly pop-up grants in the amounts of $1851.00 to local non-profits in the areas of youth, housing, aging, and culture. We also made a special donation of $1851.00 to a worthy organization on the date that the Bank opened its doors—August 6th. During that first week of August, our branches celebrated our customers by offering special cookies and refreshments, and, throughout the entire month of August, we are holding weekly sweepstakes drawings to further commemorate this historic year and express our gratitude.
Our Community Investment Program remains a meaningful reflection of our mission and values. For more than 30 years, this program has embodied our longstanding commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. We are proud to continue dedicating up to 10% of our after-tax income to local organizations in order to foster opportunity and enhance the quality of life throughout our region. Since its inception, the program has provided more than $6 million to deserving nonprofits. Equally important is the commitment of time, expertise, and leadership that our employees, officers, and directors contribute to nonprofit organizations throughout our community.
Likewise, our focus will remain on providing financial guidance and support to help individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofits succeed. Our experienced professionals take a consultative approach, offering product and service recommendations tailored to the needs of each customer. From personal and business banking services to digital solutions, residential and commercial lending, along with the wealth management services provided by Essex Trust and Essex Financial, we offer a comprehensive range of resources to support long-term financial well-being.
Our financial strength further reflects the stability and confidence that have defined Essex Bank for generations. At fiscal year-end 2025, Essex Bank’s assets exceeded half a billion dollars. Assets under management by Essex Trust exceeded $1 billion, and our wholly owned subsidiary, Essex Financial, had assets under management of more than $4 billion. The Bank remains extremely well capitalized, far exceeding regulatory requirements. The accomplishments highlighted above are a testament to the employees, customers, and community that have shaped Essex Bank throughout its 175-year history. I look forward to building on that legacy and guiding Essex Bank's continued success towards the next 175 years.
"We have considered Essex Bank our banking home for nearly 40 years now because we are staunch believers in local community banking. You have stood by us all this time, and in this greatest moment of need, did so again. This experience reinforced our belief that your corporate culture is in and of itself a wonderful community. Thank you for giving our own community a treasure."
The depth and quality of our relationships have been a hallmark of Essex Bank since its inception, and we work on your behalf every day to uphold the highest standards of integrity, inclusion, and trust. Relationships, combined with our advanced products and services, give you more ways to help you reach your goals, and we are so glad to be by your side.
Sincerely,
Lynn K. Giroux
