The cut off time for same day deposits is Monday through Friday at 4:00pm. Checks deposited after 4:00pm and on Saturday, Sunday, or on a Holiday will be considered deposited on the next business day. Download the Essex Bank Ability to Withdraw Funds Disclosure for more information.
Digital payment options include Bill Pay, Pay a Person, and Bank to Bank transfer to your own account at another institution. Businesses may set up a Wire PIN Agreement to initiate wires in online banking.
To enroll in Essex Bank online banking, you must have the following: account number, first and last name, email address, phone number, city and zip code, social security number, date of birth, mother’s maiden name, and driver’s license number.

There could be several reasons. If you have tried to log in too many times using incorrect credentials, you may have been locked out. You can also be locked out for failing to correctly answer your security questions. If your account has been compromised, Essex Bank staff may make the decision to lock your web banking for safety. If you are unable to enroll, you may be entering information that does not match what the Bank has on the system for you. Contact our help desk at (844) 824-9387.

Essex Bank debit cards can be produced in a branch. The process takes just a few minutes. If your card is expiring, a new card will automatically be sent to the address on file.
If your Essex Bank debit card is lost or damaged, there is a $10.00 replacement fee.
Yes, debit cards have a Point Of Sale (POS) limit. This varies between customers but generally the top limit is $1,500 a day. If this is insufficient for a purchase, please call your Essex Bank branch to request a temporary limit raise.
Statements can be viewed in the eDocuments tab. If an Essex Bank customer does not wish to enroll in paperless statements, they can contact their branch to have another statement mailed.
The eDocuments page within online banking allows Essex Bank customers to enroll and unenroll in paperless statements.
When logged into online banking, go to “Menu,” then “Service Center,” and choose “Deactivate/Reactivate My Debit Card.” When logged into the app, you can also go to “Cards” to turn off the card. If you suspect fraud on your Essex Bank debit card, please call 833-337-6075 to report the fraud and turn off the card.
As long as the payment is not already processing, it can be cancelled within Bill Pay. If the payment is sent as a check and the check number is listed in the Bill Pay details, a stop payment can be placed by going to the “Menu,” then “Service Center,” and choosing “Stop Payment.” ACH Stop Payments cannot be placed online. For the minor, items needed are Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Primary Address, Phone Number (usually custodian's dependent on age), and Mother's Maiden Name. For the custodian, items needed are Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Primary Address, Driver's License or Passport, Phone Number, Mother's Maiden Name, Email Address, and Employer & Occupation.
The minimum opening balance for an Essex Bank Certificate of Deposit is $500.

To send a wire transfer, you must visit an Essex Bank branch with the following information: The beneficiary bank name, routing number and address, as well as the beneficiary name, account number, and address. The Bank will also ask the purpose of the wire to help customers avoid scams or fraud. Businesses may set up wire agreements which allow them to call in a wire or submit it via online banking.
